The Medium Laminar System is the evolution of the conventional green roof because:
It has a raised floor with the function of creating, below the same, a reservoir of water or of arpa thermoacoustic insulation. In addition, it allows the passage of wires or pipes.
It uses hydroponics, with subsurface irrigation of the plant, using as little substrate as possible and avoiding the spray pumps for water distribution.
In short, how about having a green roof and at the same time treating the sewage you produce?
With the Medium Laminar system it is possible to create a cistern on top of the roof (using PVC waterproofing, which has anti-root protection), to retain rainwater and also to treat and polish the waste water produced in the building. This system allows the reuse of water and nutrients generated in the establishment, avoiding irrigation with potable water – a waste generated with the creation of common green roofs.
With a retention of 50 to 60 liters of water per square meter, the Medium Laminar System is ideal to be installed in roofing of buildings or flat slabs of residences.
The system is more efficient than the conventional green roof. As the nutrients are already present in the reuse water, the substrate loses its function of plant nutrition, becoming only an extra weight on the structure. All irrigation is subsurface, with no contact of water with the air, which avoids the proliferation of mosquitões.
