Natural or biological pools are those that do not need chlorine or filters to function. They are maintained thanks to aquatic plants that guarantee cleaning and maintenance.
Ecotelhado has developed a system for the conversion of its conventional pool – with chlorine – to natural pool. Thus, any structure, sometimes arid, can be transformed into a pleasant and ecological lake for bathing.
You would have a bathing area, swimming compartment, and a purifying area with plants. The plant zone can be considered a water garden or biological filter, with plants emerging on the shores and submerged in deeper areas. With these transformations, a complete ecosystem will emerge, full of life and able to purify the water. The new natural environment will attract, for example, dragonflies above water and swallows that will come to drink in mid-flight. All this brings thousands of possibilities of observation of nature, without leaving home. In addition, there is the possibility to add fish, creating an incredible environment for interactive dives right there in your garden.
The natural pools are artificial ecosystems, with biological treatment.
They have a zone destined to baths and others to the purification of the water.
In these ecosystems there is a complex community of aquatic species, able to purify water through ecosystem services.
You can take a shower in naturalized water, clear and transparent. Water that is not harmful to human health or the environment.
No chemical additives, no salt, no chlorine are required. This brings savings on maintenance and benefits to anyone who is allergic to these types of products.
The plants play three important roles in natural pools:
Through plant bioactivity, clean water is low in nutrients and rich in oxygen. An antiseptic function is then offered to organisms harmful to human health.
The zooplankton (microscopic living beings) present in the water, remove the bacteria and the algae in excess constituting a live and permanent filter without requiring any technical equipment.
The pool water itself is “equipped” with a “live” filter. Plankton’s energy source is the oxygen produced by the bioactivity of aquatic plants.
Sometimes natural pools have external filters that remove particles suspended in water. In this filter lives a community of other microorganisms, which guarantees the decomposition of the filtered impurities until their mineralization.
The configuration of each project depends on the wishes of the client, the maximum allowable capacity and the constraints of the deployment site.
Each natural pool is designed to have perfect harmony with the place where it will be built.
